West Hollywood, CA – Sheriff’s Deputy Hospitalized after Suspected Hit-and-Run Accident on Formosa and Fountain Avenues

West Hollywood, CA (August 8, 2018) – A local news source reported that a sheriff’s deputy required hospitalization as the result of a suspected hit-and-run accident that took place along Formosa and Fountain Avenues. The collision took place at approximately 5:10 PM in the evening last week on Friday, August 3, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identity of the deputy or the suspect driver has been revealed.

Based on the news article, an off-duty deputy from the Los Angeles County Sheriff had been riding a motorcycle in the West Hollywood area when, for indeterminate reasons, an oncoming car collided with him. Officials confirmed the victim suffered moderate injuries as a result of the impact. Sometime later, paramedics transported the deputy to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he endured surgical procedures on his injured foot. The current condition of this individual has not been disclosed.

Police officers revealed the motorist had not stopped to help the officer and sped away from the crash site. The vehicle, described as a BMW model, reportedly lost its license plate and part of its bumper during the impact. At this time, authorities are working hard to locate the suspect driver.

We extend our most heartfelt prayers and most loving thoughts to the sheriff’s deputy and wish him a swift and efficient recovery from his injuries.

Hit-and-Run Accident in West Hollywood

By law, drivers involved in an accident are required to remain at the scene and cooperate with law enforcement officials. Fleeing a crash site is considered a cowardly, criminal act that can result in severe punishment, including charges of a felony hit-and-run. Given the circumstances, the suspect driver will be held fully responsible for causing the crash and inflicting injuries on a police officer.

Pending the results of the investigation, the deputy may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the guilty party and, ultimately, receive compensation for multiple inconveniences including medical bills and painful injuries.
