Weaverville, CA – One Person Injured after Pedestrian Accident and Suspected Hit-and-Run on Hawthorne Street

Weaverville, CA (August 10, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that one person sustained injuries as the result of a pedestrian accident and suspected hit-and-run incident that took place on the 91 block of Hawthorne Street. Officers first documented the collision at 4:15 PM in the afternoon on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the injured pedestrian and the suspect driver has been revealed.

According to reports from CHP officers, a white GMC pickup was driving along Hawthorne Street when, for indeterminate reasons, it plowed into the unidentified pedestrian. Sometime later, as revealed by officials, the victim stood up and threw a rock towards the car, which left the crash site.

Sometime later, authorities rushed to the scene and revealed the pedestrian was injured during the crash. The current physical condition of this individual has not been disclosed.
