Vista, CA – Two Men Injured after Traffic Accident along Interstate 15 near Mission Road
Vista, CA (August 28, 2018) – A local news source reported that a 30-year old man and a 36-year old man sustained injuries as the result of a collision involving two vehicles along Interstate 15, in the vicinity of Mission Road. The incident transpired at approximately 10:50 PM on Sunday, August 26, 2018. Authorities have identified one of the drivers as 24-year old San Diego resident Ross Rodgers. No details about the identities of the two injured men or additional people involved in the accident have been revealed at this time.
According to the report, Rodgers had been driving a 2008 Toyota Prius southbound on Interstate 15 when, without warning, he plowed through traffic cones and crashed into a parked 2008 Ford F-250.
As a result of the collision, the Ford driver and a bystander sustained non-life threatening injuries. Sometime later, emergency personnel brought the two victims Palomar Medical Center in Escondido to receive an evaluation.
Meanwhile, Rodgers informed officials he had experienced pain in his foot and was also sent to Palomar to receive treatment for his injuries. Following his released, police arrested him for suspected DUI. At present, Rodgers has been interred at a county jail in Vista.
Until approximately 5:00 AM, authorities blocked off portions of I-15.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
