Drowsy Driving in California
A survey by the American Sleep Foundation reported that almost 20% of drivers admitted to driving while sleepy. Drivers who work shifts or work more than one job are six times more likely to get in a crash than drivers who are fully awake. The survey noted drowsy driving is a type of impaired driving comparable to drunk driving.
While it’s difficult to find solutions to drowsy driving due to work shifts or other reasons, the problem must be tackled in order to keep everyone on the road safe.
