The incident took place at approximately 7:52 AM on the morning of Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Authorities have not released detailed information concerning the identities of the bus driver, students, and the other motorists involved in the accident.

As part of the report, a female passenger in the SUV explained she had been accompanied by her sister in law, who had attempted to run a stop sign. At the same time, the school bus approached from an opposing direction. Without warning, the SUV slammed into the bus, resulting in the accident. The female passenger provided minimal details surrounding her sister, who reportedly returned to the crash site later.

Students who had been riding on the bus may have sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

Authorities have not revealed if the students and their driver, as well as the driver and passenger in the SUV, had to be hospitalized for treatment.

At present, the investigation is ongoing. Officials have speculated this was a DUI crash. As more evidence begins to surface, more information will be released to the public.

Accident Information

Law enforcement has not revealed if the female SUV driver will be held accountable for causing the accident and, ultimately, any injuries sustained by the driver and students. Officials may consider if drug abuse, drunk driving, negligence, distracted driving, or reckless behavior contributed to the crash in any way.

Based on this information, the non-guilty parties have the legal rights to issue personal injury lawsuits against the driver, if she is officially convicted. Head-On Collision Between Bus and Truck at Magnolia Avenue in Corona, CA Leaves One Injured

Corona, California (June 21, 2018) – One person was injured as the result of a head-on collision that involved a YMCA bus and a Toyota box truck. Police reports state the accident took place at approximately 11:27 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2018, in the vicinity of Magnolia Avenue in Corona.

Initial sources indicate that both vehicles had been traveling in opposite directions down Magnolia Avenue. CHP received a tip from the bus driver, who explained that the truck was traveling at high speed down the street. The bus driver continued to state that she had the right of way, the green light, but the motorist failed to give the right of way. Sources hint the truck driver may have turned in front of the YMCA bus and that this action resulted in the crash.

Authorities have not revealed which victim was injured and or where this individual was taken for treatment. No children were occupying the YMCA bus at the time of the crash.

Despite initial claims, police have not confirmed the existence of audio tapes or video footage proving the authenticity of the driver’s statement. More information will surface as ongoing investigations take place. The California Highway Patrol and Corona Police Department are working in unison to uncover the cause of the accident.

Traffic Accident Investigation

Due to the lack of audio and visual evidence, police are still looking into the root causes. Investigators will consider whether distracted driving and an inability to comply with traffic laws did, in fact, result in this unfortunate accident.

By law, non-guilty parties have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the culprits. Seeking legal assistance can result in compensation for medical bills, personal injury, and preservation of well-being.

An investigation into this crash will look to provide insight into the cause of it. Investigators will likely be considering who had the right-of-way, whether or not the school bus allowed a minimum of a 3-foot space as it was passing by, and if any other traffic regulations were violated by either party. Despite how it occurred, we offer our warmest wishes of health and well-being to the victim.

If the investigation shows that there was any disregard of any laws on behalf of the school bus driver that resulted in this accident, the bicyclist will likely be able to obtain compensation from the bus company. Injuries sustained in accidents often result in serious personal injury and/or wrongful death claims. Of course, the decision to obtain compensation is always up to the victim.
