Stockton, CA – Truck Driver Dies after Suspected DUI Incident on Adelbert Avenue near Section Avenue

Stockton, CA (August 13, 2018) – A local news source reported that a truck driver died as the result of a suspected DUI incident that took place along Adelbert Avenue in the vicinity of Section Avenue. The incident happened at approximately 12:35 PM in the afternoon last Thursday, August 9, 2018. As of now, authorities have identified the driver involved as 31-year old Eduardo Perez. No details about the identity of the deceased victim have been revealed at this time.

Based on the report, Perez was driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu eastbound along Section Avenue and was traveling at unsafe speed. At one point, he tried to make a turn onto southbound Adelbert when, without warning, Perez completely lost control of the Malibu, ultimately plowing head-on into a parked big rig truck on Adelbert.

Officials have confirmed the truck driver had left the vehicle and stood by the front of the big rig prior to the accident. After the impact, the Malibu dragged the victim along the roadway. Sometime later, medical personnel transported the driver to San Joaquin County Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and died.

Meanwhile, Perez suffered non-life threatening injuries. Later, police arrested him for consuming either drugs or alcohol prior to operating the Malibu.
