Southwest Fresno, CA – Unidentified Man Killed in Bicycle Accident at Church and Marks Avenue

Southwest Fresno, CA (January 23, 2019) – On Tuesday, January 22, a man was killed after being struck in a bicycle accident at the intersection of Church and Marks Avenue. The accident took place around 6 p.m. when a man had been riding a bicycle and was reportedly struck by a vehicle heading west.

The driver stayed at the scene and spoke with police, saying that he was blinded by the headlights on a vehicle coming in the other direction, which caused him to hit the bicyclist, who he couldn’t see.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident and immediately attended to the rider. The bicyclist sadly died at the scene of the accident.

Authorities took a closer look at where the accident occurred and said that the crash happened in an area that was not illuminated by lighting and doesn’t have a bike lane.
