Sonora, CA – DUI Crash Injures Andrew Wilson on Hwy 108
Sonora, California (November 6, 2018) – Authorities are investigating a DUI crash that occurred Saturday evening on a highway in Sonora. The accident transpired at approximately 8:10 pm on Hwy 108.
It’s reported that Christian Vargas-Zermeno was driving a Ford Focus heading westbound on the highway when he suddenly drifted into the opposing lane and collided with a Toyota Tundra driven by 32-year-old Andrew Wilson, of Soulsbyville. The force of the impact caused the Tundra to overturn and collide with a GMC Sierra, driven by a 17-year-old male from Sonora. Sometime later, authorities and EMS arrived on the scene of the crash and rendered aid to the injured victims. Vargas-Zemeno was cited for DUI at the scene. Officials believe the level of his intoxication was a contributing factor to the collision. Police are working to determine the events that led up to the accident.
At this time, authorities are investigating the crash.
