Sherman Oaks, CA – Fatal Accident on Highway 101 near Sepulveda Boulevard
Sherman Oaks, CA, – (December 5, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred Tuesday morning on Highway 101. The accident took place just before10:45 am near Sepulveda Boulevard.
Per the initial report, three unidentified vehicles were traveling northbound on Highway 101 approaching Sepulveda Boulevard, when for unknown reasons they collided into one another. The force of the impact caused one of the vehicles to roll over and another to become engulfed in flames. Emergency personnel immediately rushed to the aid of the injured victims and discovered one of the occupants had suffered fatal wounds and sadly died at the crash site. Firefighters on scene extinguished the fire and used tow trucks to clear the wreckage from the roadway. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim pending identification and notification of family. Officials confirmed, at least two other injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Police shut down lanes on the Highway for an unknown period of time following the crash to conduct an on-scene investigation.
