Shandon, CA – Driver Dies after Fatal Collision on Eastbound Highway 46 near Highway 41 and Cholame Y

Shandon, CA (July 26, 2018) – Local authorities reported that a person died as the result of a fatal accident that took place along eastbound Highway 46, in the vicinity of Highway 41 and Cholame Y. The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 AM in the morning on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the deceased victim and additional people involved in the crash has been released.

As news sources confirmed, an unidentified person had just completed Combat Support Training at Fort Hunter Liggett and was driving a military Humvee back home. At one point, while traveling down 46, a tire on the vehicle blew out. Without warning, the Humvee slid towards westbound traffic and crashed into the front of an oncoming sedan.

Officials reported the sedan driver died during the impact.
