Santa Rosa, CA – Motorcyclist Daniel Adams Killed in Wrong Way Crash on Highway 101; Sherry Risch Arrested for DUI

Santa Rosa, CA (August 3, 2018) – A local and reliable news source reported that a motorcyclist was killed and two others injured following a crash that was caused by a wrong-way driver on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa on Friday morning. The deceased motorcycle rider has been identified as 56-year-old Daniel Adams of Windsor. The two injured victims have also been identified as 44-year-old Phim Kho and 59-year-old Yu Kwong.

Furthermore, police identified 53-year-old Sherry Risch as the suspected DUI driver who caused the devastating wreck after driving her 2005 Kia Rio southward in the northbound lanes of Highway 101. Risch collided into Adams’ motorcycle and a Honda Odyssey occupied by Kho and Kwong. Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene of the crash in order to help any victims.

Unfortunately, Adams was pronounced dead at the scene and the two injured parties were quickly rushed to Memorial Hospital. The extent of the injuries suffered by Kho and Kwong is currently unknown. Police reportedly have good reason to suspect that Risch had been operating her vehicle while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the collision. Nevertheless, investigators are still piecing together all the events that led to this tragic accident.
