San Ysidro, CA – Woman Struck and Badly Injured by Vehicle at Willow Road and Camino De La Plaza
San Ysidro, CA – (November 23, 2018) – One person was injured after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening at the intersection of Willow Road and Camino De La Plaza. The incident occurred just before 6:45 pm on November 22nd.
Reportedly, a woman was attempting to cross the street at an intersection in San Ysidro, when suddenly an oncoming 2013 Volkswagen Jetta struck her. Emergency crews arrived at the location and immediately rendered aid to the injured pedestrian who appeared to be severely injured in the accident. Paramedics rushed the woman to UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest with life-threatening head injuries. Authorities have not released the name of the patient or their condition. Meanwhile, officials did confirm, the 21-year-old male driving the Volkswagen stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. The precise circumstances leading to the accident are still being investigated.
