Fatal Pedestrian Accident in San Bernardino County

As ordered in the California State laws, drivers are obliged to decrease the speed of their vehicles and provide the right of way for pedestrians along any portion of a roadway. Given the circumstances, officials have not yet determined if the male victim had been walking in a marked or unmarked crossing zone along Waterman and 9th.

As the investigation continues, forensic teams will inspect the vehicle and photos of the crash site to determine if mechanical issues or system failure forced the crash. Likewise, officials will consider if drugs, alcohol, negligence, recklessness, or distracted driving contributed to the accident in any way.

At the conclusion of the case, the members of the victim’s family can potentially file a wrongful death claim against the driver and, ultimately, receive compensation for unfortunate inconveniences including funeral expenses and the tragic loss of a loved one.
