Rancho Bernardo, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on Rancho Bernardo Road and Acena Drive

Rancho Bernardo, CA (November 4, 2018) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon in Rancho Bernardo. The collision transpired at approximately 2 pm on November 3rd in the area of Rancho Bernardo Road and Acena Drive.

Police said a 72-year-old man was driving a black 2006 Toyota heading westbound on Rancho Bernardo Road when he made a left turn on a red light and was broadsided by a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old boy. A 71-year-old woman who was riding as a passenger in the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where sadly she succumbed to her injuries and died. Both drivers and a 17-year-old female passenger of the Jeep were all transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries they sustained as a result of the accident. The current physical condition of the injured victims was not immediately disclosed.

The San Diego Police Department is currently investigating this accident.
