Mountain View, CA – Emily Hong Fatally Struck by Google Vehicle on Charleston Road

Mountain View, California (November 7, 2018) – The Mountain View Police Department responded to a call Monday evening after a woman was struck and killed by a Google shuttle bus. The crash happened at approximately 6:45 pm on November 5th at the corner of Charleston Road and Huff Avenue near the Googleplex campus.

Investigators reported that a Google employee named Emily Hong was struck by the vehicle on the campus. First responders attempted to administer CPR on Hong but sadly she succumbed to the injuries she sustained upon impact and died at the scene of the accident. Following the accident, officials shut down the intersection as forensic teams examined the scene. Police did not provide details identifying the driver involved in this accident or specify if any other parties were injured as a result of this collision. Authorities are still trying to determine why this accident occurred.
