Moorpark, CA – Robert Melgoza Killed in Amtrak Train Crash

Moorpark, CA – (November 26, 2018) – Police have identified the man who was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in Moorpark Sunday evening. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Robert Melgoza of Moorpark. The accident took place in the area of Avenida Colonia and Nogales Avenue at approximately 4:40 pm.

Reportedly, Melgoza was attempting to cross the train tracks in the area of Avenida Colonia and Nogales Avenue when he was suddenly struck by a Pacific Surfliner traveling northbound. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the accident and discovered Melgoza had sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Authorities did not release any details identifying the other people involved in this deadly accident.
