Menifee, CA – Update: Ricardo Murillo Killed in Accident on Highway 74 and Menifee Road

Menifee, CA – (December 6, 2018) – Police have identified the 22-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run accident in Menifee last month. The incident took place on November 12th on Highway 74 and Menifee Road.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 19-year-old Alan Guzman and 29-year-old Mario Ortega were riding a Toyota Tacoma west on Highway 74 when they collided with a Lexus sedan heading north on Menifee Road. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to roll over, fatally injuring the 22-year-old Lexus driver, Ricardo Murillo Sandoval. Police and firefighters immediately rushed to the crash site to render aid to the injured victims. Sandoval’s pregnant wife, a 23-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Two girls, ages 15 and 17, were also taken to a hospital to be treated. Meanwhile, Guzman and Ortega fled the crash site and left the two juvenile occupants in the truck. Police have reason to believe, Guzman reportedly fled to Mexico while Ortega may have fled north towards Central Valley. Anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts can contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-210-1046.

As of now, this tragic accident is under investigation.

Our prayers are with the loved ones of Ricardo Murillo. We cannot begin to understand how shocked and devastated they are while grieving the loss of their loved one. We wish them courage and strength as they get through these trying times.
