Lancaster, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision on Avenue L at 5th Street

Lancaster, CA (November 6, 2018) – According to local authorities, a woman tragically lost her life in a multi-vehicle collision Saturday morning in the area of Lancaster. The accident took place at approximately 8:00 am on Saturday, November 3rd, on East Ave L at the 5th St intersection.

The initial report indicates, a woman was driving a 2016 Scion traveling westbound on East Avenue L heading towards 5th Street West when she ran through a red light at a high rate of speed. The woman then violently crashed into a 2016 Mazda that was attempting to make a left turn from southbound 5th Street West. She proceeded to drive several hundred feet and began spinning before crossing into the eastbound lanes of Avenue L and slamming into another oncoming vehicle. Responding firefighters transported the woman to Antelope Valley Hospital where she later died of her injuries.  The name of the woman who lost her life has not been made public at this time pending notification of next of kin.  Officials confirmed that two drivers involved were hospitalized, the extent of their injuries was not established at the time of the initial log.

This tragic accident is currently under investigation.
