Lakeside, CA – Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 67 Leaves Motorcyclist Hospitalized

Lakeside, CA (November 2, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle was reported on southbound Highway 67, just before Riverford Road. The accident was reported at approximately 10:00 am on Friday, November 2nd. At this time, details identifying the people involved in the crash have not been revealed.

Officials have confirmed, a motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle on Highway 67 while driving in the southbound lanes. After the crash, the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene of the accident on foot. At least one eyewitness was able to provide information on the hit-and-run driver that fled on foot. Police describe the driver as a white male with a baseball cap. He was last seen running towards some brush off the side of the road. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital to treat severe injuries. It is unclear whether air support was dispatched to assist in locating the suspect. According to police, the search for the hit-and-run driver is still ongoing.
