Lakehead, CA- Major Injuries After Semi Crash on I-5 Near Gilman Rd.

Lakehead, CA (April 25, 2019)- The Interstate 5 Freeway near the Gilman Road on-ramp was the site of an accident involving a Jeep Cherokee and a semi-truck on Thursday at around 7:24 am.

According to the California Highway Patrol, removal of the damaged vehicles required the closure of the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes near Gilman Road. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene to treat victims who sustained major injuries in the crash.

The total number of people hurt in the crash is currently unknown. While damage to the tractor-trailer was not reported, the Jeep received major front-end damage.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
