Laguna Beach, CA – 80-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Uber and Pedestrian Accident on South Coast Highway

Laguna Beach, CA (February 14, 2019) – Police say that an 80-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries in an accident that happened due to an Uber driver. The accident took place on the South Coast Highway. According to police, the accident took place around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night. The pedestrian had been crossing Mountain Street in a crosswalk when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle operated by a driver for Uber. The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and cooperated with authorities, according to police.

When paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident, they found the pedestrian with “grave” injuries. He was transported by ambulance to the Mission Hospital, and his condition is currently unknown.

Roads were closed on Wednesday night while the investigation took place. It continues at this time.
