Hayward, CA – Motorcyclist Injured during Traffic Collision along Southbound 880 Freeway near Highway 92

Hayward, CA (August 27, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries as the result of a traffic collision that took place along the southbound lanes of the 880 Freeway, in the vicinity of Highway 92. The accident occurred at approximately 12:38 PM on Sunday, August 26, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on the initial report from CHP, an unidentified person had been riding a black Suzuki motorcycle along the 880 Freeway when, for indeterminate reasons, a larger vehicle collided with the bike. Sometime later, firefighters arrived at the crash site and discovered the rider had been thrown from the bike and onto Lane 3.

Officials confirmed the motorcyclist was not severely injured during the impact. Afterward, medical personnel brought the victim to a nearby hospital. The current condition of this individual was not immediately disclosed.

Authorities did not reveal if the motorist remained at the scene or was injured during the crash.
