Groveland, CA – At Least One Person Killed in Highway 120 Car Crash
Groveland, CA – (November 16, 2018) – An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a deadly accident that took place Friday morning on a highway in Groveland. The accident occurred at approximately10:42 am on Highway 120, also known as Big Oak Flat Road, at Smith Station Road.
Officials confirmed, two vehicles were traveling on Highway 120 when for indeterminate reasons, they violently collided into one another. When first responders arrived on scene they discovered an occupant of one of the vehicles was unconscious after the impact. The second vehicle had its airbags deployed, and no one was moving in the car. Paramedics attempted to stabilize the injured victims before three ambulance units arrived to render aid and transport victims to a local hospital. One of the injured victims succumbed to their injuries at the crash site and died at the scene. Another victim was flown to a hospital with unknown injuries. Both vehicles were towed away from the crash scene as evidence.
Police are still conducting an active investigation.
