Gilroy, CA – Victim of Fatal DUI Crash on Watsonville Road Identified as Dillon Oliver
Gilroy, CA (August 6, 2018) – A local news source in Gilroy has reported the identity of the young man who tragically passed away following a crash between his motorcycle and a Dodge Durango Friday night on Watsonville Road, near Pharmer Road. 24-year-old Dillon Oliver has been confirmed as the deceased victim of a crash that was caused by a drunk driver at approximately 7:30 p.m. on August 3rd.
Oliver had been traveling in the northbound lanes of Watsonville Road with one passenger on his motorcycle when the Durango veered into their path. The immense impact of the collision caused both Oliver and his passenger, who has not yet been identified, to be ejected from the bike. Unfortunately, Oliver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger on the motorcycle reportedly suffered major injuries as emergency personnel immediately rushed them to a local hospital. The driver of the Durango mad a shallow attempt to flee the scene but the vehicle apparently broke down, according to a statement made by the California Highway Patrol. The suspect has not been identified, however, it has been confirmed that the individual has been placed under arrest at this time.
