Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Florence Avenue in Vermont-Slauson
June 14, 2018. The Los Angeles Police Department issued tragic news this morning after a pedestrian who was identified as 70-year-old Mary Thomas died from injuries she suffered in an accident with a motor vehicle. The fatal crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the intersection of Budlong and Florence avenues. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Thomas was attempting to cross the intersection while pushing a metal shopping cart.
It is currently unknown who might be held responsible for this accident as the driver remained at the scene. Police questioned the driver about the events of the crash, but no information has been made available to the public at this time. Florence Avenue had to be shut down between South Budlong Avenue and South Vermont Avenue while police investigated the scene.
