Elk Grove, California – Deadly Traffic Accident on Highway 99 Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

Elk Grove, California (June 26, 2018) – Sacramento news sources reported that one person died, two injured as the result of a deadly traffic accident that took place on Highway 99, just south of Grant Line Road. The incident occurred a little before 10:00 PM on the night of Monday, June 25, 2018. At present, authorities have not revealed more precise details concerning the identities of the victims.

Based on the report from the California Highway Patrol, a 22-year old Vacaville woman was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix down Highway 99 when she crashed into a semi-truck. As a result of the impact, the Pontiac was pinned beneath the truck’s left rear tire.

Sources confirmed the 22-year old woman and her passenger, a 1-year old boy, were transported to UC Davis Medical Center to receive treatment. Later, the woman died from her injuries. The boy is being listed in non-life threatening condition as a result of minor injuries.

Authorities revealed the driver of the semi-truck survived and did not sustain injuries.

As part of the ongoing investigation, law enforcement shut down the slow lane of Highway 99.
