Elk Grove, CA – Police Arrest Woman Involved in Fatal DUI Accident along Interstate 5 near Lambert Road

Elk Grove, CA (August 30, 2018) – A local news source recently reported a woman potentially involved in the fatal DUI Accident that resulted in the death of one person and the injuries sustained by six more people has been arrested. The violent collision occurred along the Interstate 5 Freeway, in the vicinity of Lambert Road, at approximately 2:30 AM on Monday, August 27, 2018. As of today, the culprit has been identified as 27-year old Eunique Miracle Faith Lewis.

Meanwhile, officials identified the fatality as Colin Mulhern and one of the surviving victims as Patrick Carney.

Fatal DUI Accident in Sacramento County

Based on the initial report, Mulhern had been driving a van towing a trailer along Interstate 5 when, for indeterminate reasons, Lewis plowed her Ford Explorer into the rear of the trailer. As a result of the impact, the van flipped over and slid across a section of the interstate.

Later, officials sadly confirmed that Mulhern had died at the crash site.

Patrick Carney and the other five occupants of the van also sustained injuries in the crash and were sent to a nearby hospital for more in-depth treatment. Medical personnel reported that Carney had sustained severe injuries during the impact but did not specify the extent of injuries sustained by the other five victims.

Based on police reports, Mulhern, Carney, and the other five passengers were revealed to be touring musicians.

On Wednesday, August 29, police arrested Lewis for felony DUI, operating a vehicle without a valid license, and two unspecified charges.

As of now, investigators are still looking into additional factors behind the crash.

Fatal DUI Accident in Sacramento County

Based on the report, Lewis has been accused of driving without a valid driver’s license and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, which will result in serious charges. In this light, this individual will be held responsible for causing the crash, killing one motorist, and injuring six more people.

Once the case is resolved, the surviving injured victims may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the guilty party and, ultimately, receive compensation for multiple inconveniences including painful injuries and medical bills.

Likewise, the members of Mulhern’s family may have the option of pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit against the culprit. Through legal intervention, these individuals can receive compensation for funeral expenses, the tragic loss of a loved one, and additional unfortunate circumstances.
