Costa Mesa, California – Two People Injured after Motorcycle Accident on the 55 Freeway
Costa Mesa, California (July 4, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that two people were involved in a motorcycle crash that took place on the southbound lanes of the 55 Freeway near 22nd Street. The incident occurred at approximately 2:16 PM in the afternoon on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Authorities have identified the injured victims as 36-year old Margo Margarito Valencia and 9-year old Mia Valencia.
According to the CHP report, Valencia was driving the motorcycle, also occupied by the 9-year old passenger, on southbound 55 when, for indeterminate reasons, the bike collided with an oncoming car. As a result of the crash, Margo and Mia sustained injuries. Later, the pair was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center to receive treatment.
Officials have not revealed if the motorist was injured during the crash.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing. As more evidence begins to arise, more information will be released to public sources.
