Clearlake, CA – Teenager Seriously Injured in Accident on 32nd Avenue

Clearlake, CA – (November 26, 2018) – Authorities in Clearlake are investigating a major injury traffic accident that involved a dirt bike rider Sunday morning. The accident took place just before 9:00 am on November 25th in the area of 32nd Avenue and Irving Avenue.

Reportedly, a 17-year-old male was riding a dirt bike heading northbound on Irving Avenue when he collided with a Honda Pilot. Officials confirmed, the teenager failed to yield to the right of way and drove directly into the path of Dolores Burden who was operating a 2014 Honda Pilot. Burden attempted to avoid the rider but the front of her vehicle struck the motorcycle despite trying to take evasive actions. The force of the impact ejected the rider from the bike. Police and firefighters were dispatched to the crash site and discovered the rider unconscious in the roadway. Paramedics attempted to stabilize the rider before transporting the victim to an out-of-county hospital with major injuries. Officials confirmed Burden remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

As of now, this accident is under investigation.
