Cathedral City, CA – Fatality Pedestrian Accident near Whispering Palms Trail & Ramon Rd

Cathedral City, CA – (November 7, 2018) – A man lost his life as the result of a pedestrian accident that occurred on Tuesday in the area Cathedral City. The accident transpired at an unspecified time on Tuesday near Whispering Palms Trail and Ramon Road.

Per the initial police report, a man was walking across the street in an unmarked crossing zone near the Whispering Palms Trail and Ramon Road intersection and was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. The driver involved in the accident called authorities and informed them of the accident. The first responding officers rushed to the scene and attempted to revive the man but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene of the accident. Forensic teams conducted a blood test on both the pedestrian and the driver to determine if intoxication played a role in the accident. The victim’s name is currently unknown awaiting the notification of next of kin. Authorities closed off the intersection to the public to give way to an on-scene investigation.

This incident is currently under investigation.
