While there are many questions that need answers in an accident such as this one, investigators are likely looking mostly at the condition of the plane prior to takeoff. Faulty mechanics are generally accountable for any small plane crash, in which case there may likely be a path toward seeking financial compensation available to the victims. Of course, if the pilot of the plane is determined to have been operating the aircraft in a negligent manner, the same opportunity to seek financial recompense will apply. However, the choice to file a claim is a terribly personal decision that can only be made by the victims.
