Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz County, CA – Motorcyclist Injured after Collision with Sedan along Highway 236 and Ridge Drive

Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz County, CA (August 9, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist sustained injuries as the result of a collision with a sedan that took place along 14379 Highway 236 (Big Basin Way) and Ridge Drive. Officials first documented the incident at approximately 4:37 PM in the afternoon on Thursday, August 9, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on eyewitness and CHP officer reports, an unidentified person was riding a motorcycle on Highway 236 when, for indeterminate reasons, it collided with a Ford sedan near the junction of Ridge Drive. Sometime later, emergency crews were dispatched to the crash site and rendered aid to the motorcyclist, who was severely injured during the impact.

Later, medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital to receive more in-depth treatment. The current physical condition of the rider was not immediately disclosed.

After the crash, CHP revealed the Ford received severe damage to its right tire but did not specify if the motorist sustained injuries.

Presently, the investigation is ongoing.
