Blue Lake, CA – One Person Injured after Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 299 near Old Creeks Road

Blue Lake, CA (August 10, 2018) – A local news source reported that one person sustained injuries as the result of a traffic crash involving two vehicles that took place on Highway 299 (Trinity Highway) in the vicinity of Old Creeks Road. The incident happened at approximately 9:20 PM at night on Thursday, August 9, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on the initial CHP report, a black Chevrolet Malibu and a white Chevrolet Equinox were traveling along Highway 299 when, for indeterminate reasons, the two vehicles collided. Afterward, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash site rendered aid to one victim, who sustained injuries of an unspecified nature. The current condition of this individual was not immediately disclosed.

Officials confirmed the Malibu suffered damage to its left rear tire and revealed the Equinox sustained minor damage to the right side of its front end.

Sometime after the crash, officers revealed the sedan driver had behaved in a strange manner. After exiting the vehicle, the motorist ran unsteadily towards a nearby guardrail on 299.

At this time, investigators have labeled the highway crash as a possible hit-and-run and are attempting to locate the culprit.
