Bakersfield, CA – Myrna Cynthia Acosta Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Edison Highway

Bakersfield, CA (February 13, 2019) On the night of February 11^th, a fatal hit-and-run accident happened on Edison Highway just east of East California Avenue. According to the reports, a 28-year-old named Eliseo Martinez, suspected to be driving under the influence, struck 48-year-old Myrna Cynthia Acosta with his Mercury Grand Marquis around 7:00 p.m.

Unfortunately, Martinez proceeded to drive off without tending to Acosta. By the time the paramedics arrived at the scene, Acosta had passed away from her injuries. California Highway Patrol officers later found and arrested Martinez on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run for the fatal incident.

This accident is still under investigation as officials continue to gather all of the facts.
