Bakersfield, CA – Injury Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99

Bakersfield, CA (July 19, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a collision in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 that resulted in at least one person injured on Thursday morning. The injurious crash which occurred in the vicinity of the Kimberlina Road off-ramp reportedly took place at around 7:50 a.m.

The report released by the California Highway Patrol stated that the vehicles involved in the collision were a white SUV and maroon Ford Taurus. Following the accident, the SUV landed in an embankment and the impact of the crash apparently forced the Ford to overturn onto its roof, however, it continued rolling and landed back upright on its wheels by the off-ramp. The report also indicated that several other vehicles may have possibly been involved as well, although that has not been verified at this time.

Paramedics were called out to the scene and they arrived quickly in order to assist the injured victims. At least one person, an unidentified occupant of the overturned Ford, sustained fairly serious injuries including a possibly broken arm as well as neck pain. There was no information released in regards to the cause of this accident, and the events that led up to it are currently being investigated.
