Atascadero, CA – Two Cal Poly Professors Severely Injured after Brutal Collision with Car on Highway 41 near Santa Ysabel Avenue

Atascadero, CA (August 28, 2018) – A local news source reported that two Cal Poly professors sustained severe injuries as the result of a brutal collision with a car that took place along Highway 41, in the vicinity of Santa Ysabel Avenue. The incident happened at some time on Saturday, August 18, 2018. As of today, authorities have identified the injured professors as Andrew Glick and his wife Mary Glick. No details concerning the identity of the motorist involved in the crash have been revealed.

Based on the original report, Mr. and Mrs. Glick were attempting to walk through a marked crossing zone along Highway 41 when, without warning, a car plowed into them. As a result of the violent impact, the couple sustained severe injuries including broken legs, lacerations, bruises, and bleeding in their brains.

Sometime later, emergency personnel brought the pair to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo to receive treatment. Based on an additional report, Mrs. Glick explained she and her husband wear immobilizers and receive physical and occupational therapy on a daily basis.

Authorities do not believe the motorist had consumed drugs or alcohol prior to operating the vehicle.
