Officials reported that a vehicle struck Nguyen in a Sears parking lot located in the 2600 block of Somersville Road at around 7:30 p.m. Emergency crews arrived and transported Nguyen to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries. The police are currently investigating the accident to see why the driver struck the child.

We would like to offer our condolences to the family of little miss Angela Nguyen as they try to understand how this accident occurred.  Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

Pedestrian Accidents in California

Sadly, over 1,000 children suffer fatal injuries every year after being involved in an accident. Negligence plays a huge role in most pedestrian accidents. Drivers that use speed, use cell phones, drive under the influence, or fall asleep at the wheel put pedestrians at risk every day. The police are working to figure out if speed was a factor in this accident. The driver who struck Nguyen was very cooperative at the scene. Officials haven’t released the driver’s name yet and it’s unclear if charges will be pressed.

Nguyen’s parents could file a wrongful death lawsuit if negligence caused this accident. It’s vital that the parents work with an experienced attorney that has the resources to prove negligence in the event that the negligent party tries to avoid taking responsibility.
