Angels Camp, CA – One Dead, One Injured after Car Accident on Vallecito Road

Angels Camp, CA (July 18, 2018) – Local news sources reported that 2005 Subaru Impreza and a 1980 Ford F250 were involved in a fatal accident that took place on Vallecito Road. The incident occurred around 7:20 PM in the evening on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Authorities have identified the driver of the Ford as 24-year old Vallecito resident Rodney Sanders and his passenger as 24-year old Dylan Brock. At this time, not details concerning the identities of the 36-year old female Subaru driver or her 6-year old passenger have been disclosed, but authorities have hinted these victims shared the same last name.

As per the reports, the 36-year old woman was driving the Subaru east on Vallecito Road near the Rolleri Bypass. At one point, she ventured across the double yellow line as she entered a curve and drifted into the west lane. Without warning, the Subaru plowed into the oncoming Ford operated by Sanders. Based on the reports, the female driver may have been ejected from the vehicle during the impact.

First responders transported the Subaru driver to an Angels Camp Police Department landing site, but the victim tragically died before paramedics could transport her to a nearby hospital.

Later, rescue teams discovered the 6-year old passenger in the back right seat of the Subaru, and officials confirmed the child suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Additional reports confirmed Rodney Sanders and Dylan Brock were not injured during the impact.

We extend our deepest condolences and most heartfelt prayers to the family and friends of the Subaru driver and wish them peace of mind during this tragic time. We also extend our prayers to the victims of the accident and wish them swift and efficient recoveries.
