1 Man Fatally Injured by Tractor-Trailer in Fresno County

(June 24, 2018) – A local news source reported that a man was tragically killed Friday night after being struck by a large commercial tractor-trailer on Elkhorn Avenue in Fresno County. The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday night when a 2013 Volvo tractor-trailer was driving on Elkhorn Avenue, west of Highway 43. According to reports, Robert Perez who was the driver of the truck apparently ran over a man who was allegedly lying down on the eastbound side of the avenue.

Reportedly, it is still unclear why the man had been lying in the road, and it is uncertain as to whether or not he was alive at the time of impact. Officers who responded to the scene unfortunately pronounced the man dead shortly after. The name of the man who died is not being released until family members can be notified. According to officials, Perez remained at the scene after the accident and fully complied with police. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.
